You have got your tickets for Formula 1 at the Red Bull Ring – now for the real question: where do you sleep? Spielberg is a town of around 5,000 people, and on a race weekend tens of thousands of fans need a bed. Here is the honest overview of every option – including the ones we do not offer ourselves.

Hotel or guesthouse: comfortable, but rare and further out

Spielberg itself has very few hotel rooms. Most fans who sleep in hotels stay in Knittelfeld, Judenburg, Leoben or even further away – and commute daily through event traffic. If you choose this route, book very early and expect minimum stays. Comfort is top level; the atmosphere is more "visiting the race" than "living the weekend".

Holiday apartment or private room: the region's hidden stock

Many local families rent out rooms or apartments over the race weekend. It is often warm and down-to-earth – but the good addresses go to returning regulars, and you still drive to the track and back every day. Parking at the Ring becomes your daily topic.

Camping: in the middle of it instead of commuting

The reason so many F1 fans camp in Spielberg is simple: you live where everything happens, for the whole weekend – and the car stays parked.
