Safe Camping for Women at the Red Bull Ring – Stress-Free and Secure
Solo female travelers welcome at Schitterhof: 24/7 security, well-lit grounds, guaranteed quiet hours from 11 PM – safe and relaxed.

Heading to the Grand Prix alone or with friends? No problem. At Schitterhof, clear rules, visible security, and a culture of respect ensure everyone feels comfortable – especially women traveling without male company.
Let's be honest: "Is camping at the Red Bull Ring safe for women alone?" is a question we hear regularly. And the answer is an unequivocal yes. Why? Because for over two decades, we've made sure everyone feels secure here – whether you're arriving solo in a camper, sharing a chalet with friends, or simply traveling without a partner.
Schitterhof isn't your typical festival campsite where the party rages all night. We're an officially accredited event campsite (color code WHITE) with clear ground rules: quiet hours from 11 PM, no loud party music, no excessive drinking. That's exactly what our guests appreciate – couples, seniors, families, and yes, women traveling alone.
What makes Schitterhof particularly safe for women?
It starts with access control: only those who've booked receive a personalized wristband and are allowed on the grounds. During all event days, a professional security team operates around the clock – not just at the entrance, but on patrol throughout the night. The entire site is well-lit, pathways to sanitary facilities are illuminated and clearly laid out.
The bathroom facilities themselves are gender-separated, modern, and cleaned multiple times daily (morning, noon, evening – even more frequently during peak times). Chalet guests have access to four exclusive VIP bathrooms reserved solely for them – even more private, even quieter.

„I went to the Grand Prix alone for the first time and was surprised how relaxed and safe I felt at Schitterhof. Nothing like other festival sites.“
Which pitch category suits me as a solo traveler?
That mainly depends on your vehicle. Traveling with a small camper or car plus tent? BASIC usually works (approx. 30 m² on gently sloping grass, optional electricity). Got a motorhome up to 7.5 m? PREMIUM is your best bet (approx. 48 m² level ground, electricity included).
Arriving completely without your own vehicle – say, by train or shuttle? The chalet is ideal: solid pine wood cabin with two bunk beds (sleeps up to four), electricity, lighting, USB ports, and access to VIP bathrooms. An included parking space sits about 100 m away if friends are picking you up by car.
Want more space? PREMIUM XL (approx. 60 m²) or PREMIUM XXL (up to 78 m²) offer additional breathing room – even traveling solo, that can be nice. The prime location near dining and facilities saves you long walks at night.
Can I move around freely during the day – or must I stay at my pitch?
Of course you can come and go as you please. Your wristband (which you receive at check-in) is your site pass. During the day you'll probably be trackside anyway – about 900 m on foot, roughly a 10-minute walk to the main entrance. Back to the site in the evening, maybe grab a pizza at MATTEO or tacos at MAMAS TACOS (awarded 3 Falstaff flowers in 2026), and then from 11 PM onwards, guaranteed quiet.
Dining is open daily from approximately 07:00–23:00 (breakfast from 07:00, hot food from 11:00). You can pay cash or card, no minimum. Vegetarian options available on request. Eating alone at a table is completely normal – nobody bats an eye if you enjoy dinner solo.
What if something happens at night?
Then the rule is: stay calm and immediately contact security. The emergency number during events is +43 670 5090460. Assembly points are marked at the entrance and by the sanitary building. But honestly: in over 20 years of event experience, we've had virtually no serious incidents – precisely because we set clear boundaries from the start.

Traveling with a dog? Dogs are free and warmly welcomed (maximum two per pitch), but must be supervised at all times and can't disturb anyone. Leash requirement applies everywhere, quiet hours for four-legged friends too. Please bring your own waste bags.
What if I arrive late or leave early?
Check-in is generally open 08:00–22:00, on main arrival day until 23:00 (exact times in your booking confirmation). Arriving later? No problem – you can overnight free on the waiting car park directly in front of check-in and check in from 08:00 the next morning.
Monday departure is flexible (ideally by about 13:00). You don't have to leave before the race – experience shows Schitterhof guests roll out relaxed about an hour after the race ends, well before official clearance. The nearby S36 (approx. 800 m, Spielberg/Zeltweg Ost exit) further eases the journey home.
Bottom line: safe camping for women at the Red Bull Ring works brilliantly at Schitterhof. Because we've known how major events run since 1999 – and because we said from day one: quality over quantity, peace over party, respect above all else. Exactly as it should be.
