It happens more often than you'd think: a friend decides to join after all. You want to arrive a day early because it's a long drive. Or you realise you'd prefer a slightly larger pitch. With us, you don't need to email anyone and wait for a reply — you handle it yourself, in two minutes, and see immediately what it costs.

Getting in

At schitterhof.at/meine-buchung, you log in with your booking number and email address. The booking number is in your confirmation and starts with a hash — for example, #0042. Whether you type the hash or not doesn't matter, we'll find your booking either way.

If you booked through the fan site, the path is the same: spielberg-camping-weiss.at/meine-buchung. Both sites lead to the same booking — use whichever you prefer.

What you can change yourself

Stay longer. Push your departure date back, or arrive a day earlier. The site opens on the Wednesday before each event, with Monday after as the latest possible day — within that window, you set your dates freely.

Add people. You enter adults and children separately. The display automatically calculates the per-person charge and tourist tax, and won't let you add more people than your pitch category allows.

Switch categories. From BASIC to PREMIUM, from PREMIUM to XL or XXL, or straight into a chalet — provided there's availability for your dates. You only see what's actually free.

After each change, the amount appears before you confirm anything: what you've paid so far, what it costs now, and the balance due as a separate line. No fine print, no surprises on the invoice.

Your booking number and check-in QR code stay the same. The arrival sheet you receive before your trip simply gets regenerated with the new details.

What you can't do yourself — and why we're saying so

One thing deliberately doesn't work with a click: downward changes. Fewer people, shorter stay, smaller category. That's not bureaucracy — it's a refund, and a refund should be looked at by a person, not a form. Drop us a line, we'll sort it.

Everything that increases, you handle yourself. Anything where money flows back to you, we look at.

Cancelling: what applies, you see beforehand

If you really can't make it, you'll find Request cancellation on your booking page. The complete scale is there — and your own situation is highlighted, with the exact amount that applies to you. So you're not enquiring blind.

Calculations always run from the start of the event, not from your arrival day:

Six months out or earlier: You get 100 per cent back. The full amount, no deductions.

Between six and two months: 50 per cent back — or, if you prefer, keep the whole amount as credit and rebook free of charge.

Less than two months: No money back then, but one free rebooking as credit. To a different event or the following year.

And in case it's down to us or the calendar: if an event is postponed, your booking automatically moves with it — you don't need to do anything. If it's cancelled outright, you get the full amount back.

Why we take the full amount upfront

We don't do deposits. You pay the total when you book, and the pitch is firmly yours.

That sounds like more commitment at first — but it's actually the opposite. A pitch that's only part-paid is a pitch that wobbles: for us in planning and for you if someone shows up with the full amount just before race weekend. We didn't want that uncertainty on either side.

The price for getting your money early is long, clear cancellation terms. Six months' full refund isn't a standard figure in motorsport camping — it's our trade-off for you committing early.

For comparison: how it usually works around here

Camping and tickets around the Ring are legally sold as leisure services. Austrian consumer protection law (§ 18 Abs. 1 Z 10 FAGG) provides no right of withdrawal for those — the usual 14-day cooling-off period you know from online shopping simply doesn't apply here. Many providers at the Ring leave it exactly at that: booked is booked, cancellation isn't an option.

For a postponement, such terms typically state that the date can change without refund or exchange. For an outright cancellation, the price gets refunded — but the booking fee usually doesn't.

We could have made it just as easy for ourselves. We didn't want to. With us, you get everything back up to six months out, and even in the final weeks before the event you don't lose your money — you take it forward as credit. That's the whole difference — and the reason we're writing it out in such detail here.

And if you're unsure

Just ask. We're a family business, not a call centre. If your situation doesn't fit the scale, a person looks at it — not a rulebook.
