You're riding your bike to MotoGP, don't fancy lugging heavy gear – or simply want to arrive tent-free and still sleep under the stars? Our glamping tents make it happen: pitched, cosy, right here at Schitterhof.

You pack your bike, carve through the Steiermark's curves – and wonder where you're meant to stash that tent that's eating half your luggage space anyway? Or you're travelling solo, no vehicle of your own, looking for an uncomplicated, safe solution right by the Ring? That's exactly why we're now offering glamping tents at Schitterhof for MotoGP: pitched, fully set up, on our maintained meadow – and without you having to haul heavy kit.

Why book a glamping tent for MotoGP in the first place?

Let's be honest: when you're travelling light or on two wheels, a ready-pitched tent just makes sense. You don't need roll mats or poles, no mallet and no fear of soggy flysheets. The tents are already there, you arrive, toss in your sleeping bag – done. At the same time, you're right in the middle of the camping experience, just without the usual setup faff.

And the best bit: you enjoy all the benefits of Schitterhof – modern sanitary facilities (cleaned several times daily), our food corner with pizza, pasta, tacos and breakfast from 7 a.m., plus free fresh water and guaranteed quiet time from 11 p.m. No racket, no chaos – instead, a relaxed atmosphere that women and anyone who values peace consistently rave about.

Weather mid-September in Murtal – what to expect

MotoGP runs mid-September – a time of year that's usually still pleasantly mild in Murtal, but noticeably cooler once the sun drops. Daytime temperatures typically hover between 15 and 20 degrees, at night they can slip down to 8 to 12. So definitely pack a warm sleeping bag, maybe a light jacket for the evenings – and allow for the odd rain shower. The tents themselves are weatherproof, naturally, but an extra jumper never hurt anyone.

In short: mostly sunny and pleasant by day, cool at night – ideal camping weather, as long as you're prepared.

Supplies without stress – supermarket shuttle included

Don't fancy riding your bike to the nearest supermarket? You don't have to. On the main days (Friday and Saturday), our free shuttle runs every 30 minutes to the nearest shop – and back again. So you can do your shopping completely relaxed, without worrying about transport.

And if you can't be bothered cooking at all: MATTEO serves hot pizza and pasta from 4 p.m., MAMAS TACOS does burritos and tacos – everything freshly made, everything right on site. Breakfast from 7 a.m. anyway. Short version: you choose whether to self-cater or just let yourself be looked after.

The glamping tent was the perfect solution – I arrived solo on the bike and had zero stress with equipment. Clean, safe, relaxed.

Security & atmosphere – especially valued by solo female travellers

One point that particularly pleases us: many solo female travellers describe Schitterhof as the safest and most pleasant campsite at the Ring. That's down to professional security (on duty round the clock), night-time lighting, consistent quiet time from 11 p.m. – and the fact that you won't find party hordes here, but people who love motorsport and still want to sleep soundly.

So if you're travelling alone, especially on a bike, and a calm, secure environment matters to you: the glamping tents at Schitterhof are a genuinely good choice. You're not isolated in your own campervan, but part of a friendly camping community – without it getting loud or chaotic.

How many tents are there – and how do you book?

We're offering a maximum of 50 glamping tents for MotoGP, with space for around 300 people total. That means: limited, manageable, not overcrowded. Early birds get the best chances – details on the tents, equipment and prices can be found directly on schitterhof.at in the booking form. Booking works as always online, simply select event, click "Glamping-Zelt" category, enter details, done.

Still questions? Have a look at our FAQ or drop us a line at servus@schitterhof.at – we're happy to help. And if you're wondering what other campsites at the Ring are like: the independent GP Camping Guide compares all official sites – honest, transparent, no advertising.

So: pack light, arrive relaxed, sleep well. We're looking forward to seeing you at MotoGP.
