Comfort tents for MotoGP 2026: everything you want to know first
Rental tents are new for us. So you know exactly what you are getting: what is in the tent, how big it really is, how the process works, what you need to bring — and when your own tent is still the better deal.

Who is a rental tent for?
Not for everyone — but for these four groups it is a fairly clear win:
- Arriving by motorbike — On a bike, space is the scarcest resource. Tent, poles, mat and sleeping bag eat half your luggage. All of that disappears.
- Groups — Four people in a tent that is already standing, with two proper beds — that saves the usual debate about who brings which part.
- First-time visitors — People heading to their first race weekend tend to underestimate how tiring pitching a tent is after a long journey. Here it simply does not happen.
- Spontaneous trips — No gear of your own? Then renting is cheaper than kitting yourself out completely for a single weekend.
It makes less sense if you are arriving in a motorhome or caravan anyway — then just book a normal pitch. And if you have a well-practised tent setup you enjoy using, your own tent is simply cheaper.
The equipment in detail
Both tents are inflatable and stand ready on the meadow when you arrive. The hard numbers side by side:

Both sizes are the same VIBE tent with full standing height (205 cm) — the only difference is the number of beds: one double for two people, two for four.
From enquiry to departure
Six steps, no surprises:
1. Choose your tent
In the booking form you pick the tent size, your dates and the number of people. How many tents are still free is shown right there.
2. Pay online
You pay for the booking online. Confirmation and invoice arrive automatically by email — that makes the tent firmly reserved.
3. Arrive from Wednesday
The site opens on Wednesday, 16 September 2026. At check-in you just show the QR code from your booking confirmation — there is nothing else to do, because the legal guest registration already happened online when you booked.
4. Move in
We show you your tent on the meadow. It is pitched, made up and lit. You open it, put your luggage inside — done.
5. The weekend
It is a 900 m walk to the track. On site there are sanitary facilities, fresh water and food. Quiet hours start at 23:00.
6. Leave by Monday
The last day is Monday, 21 September 2026. Take your luggage and simply leave the tent standing — we take it down.

By motorbike
The most obvious option for this offer. Because you carry no camping gear, panniers or a tail bag are enough for the whole weekend. You park your bike on the area reserved for rental-tent guests, a short walk from the tent.
By car
Also possible. The car does not stand at the tent itself but on the reserved parking area for rental-tent guests. If four of you share a four-person tent and arrive in two cars, let us know beforehand and we will sort out the spaces.
Without your own vehicle
Because you need neither a tent nor sleeping gear, arriving by train and bus is realistic. The nearest station is Knittelfeld, from where a bus or taxi takes you on. You walk to the track from the site anyway.
What do you need to bring?
The short answer: surprisingly little. The long one:

- Sleeping bag — or add the bedding package
- Towels
- Toiletries and personal items
- Rain jacket and sturdy shoes
- ID card or passport — the guest registration itself is already done online when you book.
Handy
- Power bank for your phone
- Head torch for the walk to the sanitary block
- Ear plugs — a race weekend is a race weekend
- A camping chair if you like sitting outside
If you would rather not carry a sleeping bag: the bedding package costs 30 € per person and contains a pillow and duvet including covers, made up for you. Towels are not included. Availability is limited — best to add it to your booking.
And if it rains?
The tents are 100 % waterproof with a water column of 5000 mm. For context: in Europe a tent counts as waterproof from 1,500 mm. 5000 mm is well above that and copes with prolonged heavy rain.
There is also a practical advantage you only appreciate in the wet: you never have to pitch or pack up in the rain. Anyone who has stuffed a soaking tent into a boot and dried it on a balcony at home knows what that is worth.
The beds stand 46 cm above the ground and there is a carpet inside the tent. Even if the meadow softens after a storm, you are not sleeping at ground level. Bring sturdy shoes anyway — it is still a meadow.
How cold does it get at night?
The campsite sits at almost 700 metres above sea level, and the Aichfeld is a valley floor between mountains. Places like this cool down sharply after dark, because the cold air collects at the bottom of the valley. In September that means pleasant days and distinctly chilly nights.
The official figures from the Zeltweg weather station, about 2,7 km from the site: an average of 19,7 °C during the day and 7,9 °C at night. The coldest September night ever recorded there was -2,9 °C. These are averages from the 1991–2020 climate period — your weekend may turn out milder, but it may just as well be colder.
For the tent that means one thing above all: a light summer sleeping bag will not do. Go for one rated comfortable down to roughly 0 °C — or book the bedding package with pillow and duvet at 30 € per person, and you won't need a sleeping bag at all.
The difference between shivering and sleeping well usually comes down to small things: socks to sleep in, a beanie, long trousers instead of shorts. And a warm layer for the evening outside your tent — once the sun disappears behind the mountains, the temperature drops quickly.
Your own tent or a rental?
An honest comparison. The rental tent is not the better choice in every respect.

The bottom line: if you already own the gear and enjoy pitching it, your own tent is cheaper. If you arrive by motorbike, do not want to carry anything, or own no gear at all, the comfort tent buys you a far more comfortable weekend — with no one-off purchase costs.
Frequently asked questions
What does a rental tent cost at MotoGP 2026 in Spielberg?
The comfort tent for 2 people costs €890 and the comfort tent for 4 people €990. Each is a flat rate for the entire stay from Wednesday 16 September to Monday 21 September 2026. On top comes the statutory overnight levy of €2.00 per person aged 15 and over per night. At full occupancy of the four-person tent that works out at roughly €49.50 per person per night.
Is bedding included in the comfort tent?
Partly. The tent includes the comfort double bed (air bed with a built-in USB-C battery) and a freshly fitted sheet, plus a carpet and two LED lamps. Pillows and a duvet are not included — you either bring a sleeping bag or add the bedding package for €30 per person.
Do I need a sleeping bag?
Yes, unless you add the bedding package. The air bed comes with a fitted sheet, but there is no duvet or pillow. The bedding package at €30 per person contains a pillow and duvet including covers and fully replaces the sleeping bag. Availability is limited.
Are towels provided?
No. Towels are included neither in the tent nor in the bedding package — please bring your own. Important if you know our chalets: there, towels are part of the bedding set, whereas the tent bedding package contains only a pillow and duvet including covers.
How big are the comfort tents?
Both comfort tents are identical in build and measure 320 × 255 × 205 cm on the outside — it is the same VIBE tent. You can stand upright throughout both (205 cm inner height). The only difference is the fittings: the two-person tent has one double bed, the four-person tent has two.
What happens if it rains?
The tents are 100 % waterproof with a 5,000 mm water column and cope with prolonged heavy rain. In Europe a tent already counts as waterproof from 1,500 mm. The air beds also stand 46 cm above the ground and there is a carpet inside. Pitching or packing up in the wet does not happen at all.
How far is it from the tent to the Red Bull Ring?
900 metres to the main entrance of the Red Bull Ring. The path is paved, level and lit, and takes about fifteen minutes on foot. No shuttle and no hunting for parking at the track.
Can I arrive by motorbike?
Yes, and that is exactly what the offer is designed for: because no camping gear has to come along, the normal storage on your bike is enough for the whole weekend. The bike is not parked at the tent itself but on the reserved parking area for rental-tent guests — only a short walk away.
Do I have to take the tent down myself?
No. Pitching and taking down is handled by us together with our partner Glory Adventure. On your departure day you take only your personal luggage and leave the tent standing.
How many comfort tents are there?
For MotoGP 2026 there are 25 tents for 2 people and 25 tents for 4 people, so 50 in total. It is a deliberately small trial contingent — allocated in the order bookings come in.
Can I redeem a discount or voucher code for a comfort tent?
No. Discount and voucher codes do not apply to the comfort tents, nor does the early-booking discount. The tent price of €890 or €990 is a fixed flat rate from our cooperation with Glory Adventure. For pitches and chalets, vouchers remain valid as usual.
