Mega Upgrade for 2026: The Red Bull Ring is getting a makeover!

Hello dear motorsport friends and camping fans!

Winter is here, the engines are silent for now – but at the Red Bull Ring, there is absolutely no talk of "hibernation"! On the contrary: When we start the new season together in 2026, our beloved Spielberg will welcome us with some spectacular new features. We have done some research for you on what is currently happening over there behind the fence. Spoiler: It's going to be amazing!

The new Schönberghof: A cube with a view

You may have already heard: The legendary country hotel Schönberghof no longer exists in its old form. But don't worry, what is being built there is amazing! The spectacular new building is set to open right on time for the start of the season (planned for February 2026).

Imagine this: a distinctive, four-story "cube" perched above the track. The highlight will definitely be the new Skybar on the roof. From up there, you will have a dream view over the Aichfeld and directly onto the racetrack. With around 100 beds, the capacity has tripled – pure luxury for those who don't want to sleep in a camper (even though it's the coziest with us 😉).

Pit Lane XL: Space for new heroes

But it's not just for the hotel guests that construction is taking place, optimization is also happening for the racing action itself. As Formula 1 grows (we are expecting an 11th team!), the pit lane is getting crowded. That's why the Pit Building is being expanded towards the east.

The excavators are already rolling to create new garages. Even the Medical Center had to move its location. Everything should be ready by May 2026, so that everything runs smoothly at the Grand Prix in June.

A clear commitment to the region

Behind all these projects is a huge investment sum – rumors speak of around 25 million euros just for this phase. It is a strong statement from Mark Mateschitz, who is continuing his father's legacy. Even though he often shies away from the limelight, these actions speak volumes. The goal is to secure the Red Bull Ring not only as a racetrack but as a tourist attraction for our beautiful Murtal region in the long term.

As sources close to the project say, the goal is clear: "Strengthen the infrastructure and the tourist attraction of the region sustainably." For us, this means: The Ring remains "The place to be" in the long run!
