Airpower 2027 in Zeltweg: The complete camping guide for the largest air show in Europe

The Airpower - a spectacle that you must see at least once in your lifetime

Every two years, the Zeltweg Air Base transforms into one of the most impressive stages in aviation. The Airpower is one of the largest international air shows in the world - featuring aerobatic teams from all over Europe, modern combat jets, historical aircraft, and an audience that regularly exceeds the 300,000 mark.

The next event: September 3rd and 4th, 2027. And already on the Thursday before, training flights can be seen - some of them directly above the Schitterhof CAMPING WEISS, as the approach corridor leads over our grounds.

Schitterhof CAMPING WEISS - the ideal starting point

Our campsite is located about 2 km from the Zeltweg Air Base - reachable in about 30 minutes on foot or 10 minutes by bike via side streets and field paths. A free, guarded bicycle parking area is located right in front of the Airfield entrance.

Shuttle buses to the Airpower are currently not planned - the bicycle is the smartest choice. And Dutch, German, and Austrian guests know: cycling is the most relaxed way to get around.

What makes the Airpower so special

The Airpower combines spectacular flight demonstrations with a festive atmosphere. What you can experience:

• International aerobatic teams - Patrouille Suisse, Red Arrows, Frecce Tricolori, and the Austrian Eurofighters
• Historical aircraft - from biplanes to early jet era jets
• Modern combat aircraft - Live demonstrations of the most powerful jets of today
• Supporting program - exhibitions, vehicle shows, on-site catering
• Thursday - Training day - fewer crowds, excellent photo opportunities, unrestricted views

Being there on Thursday - the insider tip

Many Airpower visitors only arrive on Fridays. However, Thursday is the secret tip: training flights with fewer crowds, better visibility, and a more relaxed atmosphere. Those who book at Schitterhof can check in on Wednesday evening and have Thursday morning to themselves.

Our campsite opens for the Airpower with a minimum stay of one night - ideal for visitors coming for just one day, or for those who want to enjoy the entire weekend.

For Airpower 2027, the following prices apply at Schitterhof CAMPING WEISS:

• BASIC (30 m², without electricity): from €158 for 2 nights / 2 persons
• PREMIUM (48 m², electricity included): from €248 for 2 nights / 2 persons
• Chalet (wooden chalet, 4 beds, VIP bathroom): from €1,078 for 2 nights / 2 persons

Children up to 14 years stay for free. Our tip: Book early. Many regular guests reserve their spots for the Airpower a year in advance. The popular chalets are usually the first to sell out.

Nighttime rest - even during the Airpower spectacle

The Airpower is a daytime event - the flights end in the afternoon. At our site, even during the Airpower weekend: Nighttime rest from 23:00 to 07:00, strictly monitored. After two eventful days of aviation sports, a peaceful sleep is not a given - but with us, it is.

Exploring Styria beyond the Airpower

The Murtal region around Spielberg and Zeltweg has more to offer than motorsports and air shows. Excursion tips for Airpower visitors:
